Monthly walks for women living in West Cumbria, funded by The Outdoor Partnership
Available spots
Course or workshop description
These days are specifically for women living in West Cumbria. We'll go on a different walk each month, have a lovely time outdoors, and build up your hill skills, looking at areas such as map reading, choosing routes, and safety on the hills. The days will be really supportive and fun, we'll go at a pace to suit the group, and each month will be a little different. Car shares can be arranged within the group, via our Womens Hill skills WhatsApp group. Friday 16th May - medium walk - Melbreak circular This walk will take us in a loop around Melbreak (not up it!) It's a beautiful walk which can feel quite remote while still being low level. The walk will be 9km long, with 260m of height gain. Most of it will be gentle inclines, with just one steeper section. Some of the paths will be wide and easy, but there will be a few rocky/muddy sections too. Timings: 09.30am - 3pm Meeting point: Loweswater, exact mtg point tbc You will need: lunch and a drink comfortable clothes suitable for the outdoors warm layers walking boots (or let us know if you need to borrow boots) waterproof jacket, and waterproof trousers if you have any small rucksack walking poles optional The days are funded by the Outdoor Partnership.
