Course or workshop description

Sea cliffs and multipitch crags? Abseil issues and stuck climbers? What to do if.....? This 1 day course will look at some key areas that help avoid, or solve, common issues and problems while out trad climbing. Key areas include: Abseils - setting up and escaping off multipitch crags, avoiding things going wrong on an abseil, helping an injured or ill climber descend, and ascending a rope Top tips for - helping a stuck second climber, dropped belay device, tying off belay devices and calling for help *Exact content may vary depending on the experience of the group. Prior experience: You must already be a competent trad lead climber and lead belayer to attend this course. It doesn't matter what grade you climb, you just need enough trad experience to be able to take on new ropework skills. Location: Borrowdale or Headend Quarry (Ireby) *exact location to be confirmed beforehand Timings: 09.30am - 4.30pm Group size: 4 max
