Fine tune your belaying

A mixed, adult coaching workshop at Kong Climbing in Keswick, for people who are competent lead belayers and want to be the safest belayers they can be! Exact content will depend on the group, but likely areas include: - Top tips for becoming the safest belayer you can be - Awareness of common accidents in climbing walls, and how to avoid them - Building skill at catching falls on lead and/or top rope - Use of equipment such as assisted braking devices and/or managing weight differences Timings: 5.30pm - 8.30pm Cost: £45 per session (wall entry included) Group size: 6 max You will need: rock shoes, harness, belay device Prior experience: This session will be suitable for indoor or outdoor climbers, whether you have been climbing for 1 year or 20+ years. You need to be a regular lead climber and lead belayer. It doesn't matter what grade you climb. NB. You may be asked to take some small lead falls during the session, so that people can practise catching falls. We will do this in as safe a way as we can, and you don't have to take falls if you don't want to, but if you are particularly anxious about falling off then it could be worth spending a bit of time working on relaxed falls in another session first.
