Course or workshop description

This is a course for women or non-binary individuals who want to develop their climbing outdoors, and learn or refresh fundamental safety skills for trad climbing in a group environment. There will be a maximum group size of 6, and the day will take place in Borrowdale. This workshop is heavily funded by the Outdoor Partnership to improve access to the outdoors. These courses are geared towards women and non-binary folk living in West Cumbria, but those aged 14+ can attend with a parent or guardian booked on to the same course. Content generally includes: Gear placements Building belays and trad rope systems Choosing routes and using outdoor venues Belaying from below and above Abseiling You will need to: - have some prior experience of trad climbing outdoors - bring your own harness, helmet and rock shoes (I also have some available for hire) - bring suitable outdoor clothing for the weather including waterproofs! Location: Borrowdale Timings: 09.30am - 4pm
