Womens Hill Skills - Friday July 22nd

Monthly walks for women in West Cumbria. Ennerdale Bridge - Grike Fell

  • Starts 22 Jul
  • meet outside Whitehaven Library

Course or workshop description

These days are specifically for women living in West Cumbria. We'll go on a different walk each month, and build up your skills in the outdoors, looking at areas such as map reading, choosing routes, and safety on the hills. The days will be really supportive and fun, and it really doesn't matter if you are a total beginner! We'll go at a pace to suit the group, and start with some walks not far from Whitehaven. Minibus transport is provided Walking boot hire available, but please ask in advance. Timings: 09.30am - 3pm Meeting point: Whitehaven Library You will need: lunch and a drink comfortable clothes suitable for the outdoors warm layers walking boots (or let us know if you need to borrow boots) ideally waterproof jacket, and waterproof trousers if you have any small rucksack (we have some available to borrow) The days are funded by the Outdoor Partnership. Our July walk will be a little more strenuous than June's walk, and is suitable for those that are happy going up and down steeper hills and moving on some smaller/rockier paths. We will start at Ennerdale Bridge and walk up Grike Fell and Crag Fell, with amazing views over Ennerdale water from the tops. The walk will be a variety of forest tracks, good paths, and some smaller/rockier paths. The distance will be around 10-11km and 500m height gain Sign up here or get in touch with Esther via email or message/phone if you have any questions! ask@estherfoster.co.uk 07999366034
