Course or workshop description
What stands in the way of your progression, and stops you from fully enjoying leading trad routes? 'Womens Trad Festival' coaches Esther Foster and Sally Lisle will be equipping you to overcome barriers in your climbing within a fun and supportive environment. The weekend will run with the same warm, inclusive and psyched atmosphere as the Womens Trad Festival, and is open to women and other marginalised genders. We'll develop your climbing and enjoyment of the sport, in a group setting where you can be fully yourself and feel no pressure or expectations to perform. With a ratio of 2 coaches to 8 participants, we'll explore technical, tactical and psychological areas to raise your trad game, offering many strategies and exercises to take away. We'll look at key areas that hold you back in climbing, covering topics such as trusting gear placements, managing expectations and fear, lead tactics, and reducing tension etc. Together, we'll learn at single pitch trad venues, with the option of coaching at an indoor wall if the weather doesn't play ball. It doesn't really matter what grade you climb as long as you can lead trad and belay safely. We will be camping as a group for the weekend, with celebratory team pizza on the Saturday night. Cost: £350 This includes: camping, 2 days of coaching, and Saturday evening pizza. Kit required: Helmet, harness, rock boots, chalk bag, belay device, and a trad rack/ropes if you own them Camping kit (we'll put participants in touch so people can arrange to share if they like!) Climbing standard: To attend this workshop, you need to be leading trad at VDiff or above Dates: 12 - 14th August 2022 - North Wales
